Fashion Week always throws up something unexpected. Unconventional designs, attention to details which makes every runway so spectacular, thousands of bloggers, influencers and models running across Manhattan for another and another show – nothing more than a pure craziness. But with all this Fashion Week hunger and constant celebration, Fashion Week is also a perfect time for yet another appreciation of creativity id.e. a legendary collection of Sandy Schreier.

The Costume Institute’s new exhibition, In Pursuit of Fashion: The Sandy Schreier Collection, highlights the most valuable private fashion collection in the world. The 80 pieces on a display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York are a part of the Schreier’s gift to the museum for its 150th anniversary. This remarkable treasury is on view at the Anna Wintour Costume Center until the 17th of May.

Curated by Wendy Yu and Andrew Bolton In Pursuit of Fashion exhibition is one of the greatest private collections of 20th-century fashion. Pieces which helped define American Fashion through the last century, represent the most iconic genres, artistic trends of the era. Exhibition appeals to those of all ages. You will find dresses from Christian Dior, Chanel, Chloe and the countless number of very impressive accessories (headbands, bags). It seems that every dress has a story, every dress must bring unforgettable memories for Schreier. Laces, crystal beats, vibrant, elegant dresses together serve as a beautiful reminder of the enduring achievements of the most innovative designers.
